About the experience

You lie down, close your eyes, and for one hour the sound does the work. The gongs aren't just heard: you feel them in your chest, your back, your bones. It's a vibration that moves through the body and loosens what you didn't even know was tight.

Highlights

  • Live gongs
  • Done lying down
  • One-hour session
  • No experience needed

What's included

The sound

Gongs, crystal bowls and percussion played live by Caetano and Rebecca throughout the session.

Your spot

Mat, pillow and blanket. Just wear comfortable clothes; you don't need to bring anything else.

The space

Cypress Bend Condominium VII, in Pompano Beach.

How the session unfolds

  1. You lie down

You pick your spot on the floor, cover up and get comfortable. The first minutes are silent, so the body understands it can stop.

  2. The sound comes in

The first strikes are soft. The gong doesn't start loud: it builds little by little, and the body settles into the vibration instead of bracing against it.

  3. The wave

In the middle of the session the sound fills the whole room. It's the part where many people fall asleep, and that's fine: falling asleep there is letting go too.

  4. Coming back

The sound fades until it's gone, followed by a few long minutes of silence before moving. It's best not to get up all at once.
